"I don't know that they're trying to test me, I think that they truly want to do some of this stuff," the father of five says. He later adds, "I think I have raised thinking children and for that I'm blessed. And at the same token, for that I am cursed."

In tonight's episode of Chrisley Knows Best, currently in its second season, Todd and family take a trip to Malibu, where his daughter Savannah wants her hair cut like Miley Cyrus and his son Chase wants a tattoo. Todd isn't having any of it.

"They have strong opinions, they have strong convictions and I'm grateful for that," Todd explains. "It's my job to mold some of that [and] make sure that they're convicted in what makes sense."

The proud dad is candid when talking about drama he and his family have faced since the sophomore season of the show debuted, including the strained relationship with his eldest son Kyle, who has bipolar disorder and recently blasted his father in an interview with the Daily Mail.

"Our hopes are as a family to continue to lift him up, get him back to here he needs to be," Todd says. "The things that Kyle says, although they're not true and they're hurtful, it doesn't change my love for him. He's my child."
