You've got to be insane not to love Jane!

Not only is The CW's Jane the Virgin one of the best new series of the season, the dramedy's leading lady, Gina Rodriguez, is stealing everyone's attention (and hearts) as an effortlessly relatable role model.

ETonline sat down with the 29-year-old starlet on the Jane the Virgin to talk candidly about why we've dubbed this dramedy the most adorably addicting show of the Fall, and why Jane is one of the most badass female leads we've seen in a very long time.

Each week, the plot continues to get even more deliciously twisted as the series consistently embraces their telenovela roots, and pushes plotlines to the extreme. But despite all of the outrageous events, the character of Jane manages to stay grounded and endearing — a delicate balance that Rodriguez attributes to the show's "amazing" writers.

"Everything about Jane is so badass," Rodriguez said of her on-screen alter ego. "She is vulnerable, and sweet, and sensitive, and kind, and understanding, and patient."

In addition to providing viewers with a strong well-rounded lead that young girls everywhere can look up to, the Monday night drama also makes a point to show how a woman should be treated when it comes to relationships.

"She's not afraid to be like, 'No. You don’t like that about me? Then I'm not supposed to be here. This is not working out, so I'm going to leave,'" she said. "I love playing a woman who isn't afraid to speak up for herself and isn't considered a 'B' while doing it."

The brunette beauty continued, "She's not sassy, or nasty, or stand-off-ish while she's doing it. She's direct, and she's confident. She knows her self-worth and that feels outstanding to play."
