We're on the set of Bravo's first scripted series, Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce.

The show has been described as being reminiscent of Sex and the City, but with a few differences: It's set in sunny L.A. and focuses on a group of divorced women. Star Lisa Edelstein, who starred on House for seven seasons, takes the comparison as a compliment.

"Sex and the City was a great show, and how awesome if we're being compared to them," she said.

Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce follows recently separated best-selling self-help book author Abby McCarthy (Edelstein), who takes advice from her married and divorced friends as she starts to navigate life as a single woman in her 40s. Though it may feel like Sex and the City, you won't be seeing its characters obsessing over cosmos or Jimmy Choos.

"There's some really heartfelt, painful moments that are explored," said Edelstein. "At the same time there's great comedy and certainly sexploits and all that stuff."

Also starring in the one-hour series are Beau Garrett as an ex-model and Janeane Garofalo as an entertainment attorney. Garrett was especially looking forward to being a part of the Bravo family.

"When I talk to people about Bravo and the show, I was really surprised at the reactions: 'Oh my God, it's on Bravo? I'm so excited!'" said Garrett.

Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce premieres Tuesday night at 10/9c on Bravo.
