Playing Will 'Jane the Virgin's Gina Rodriguez Be the Darling of the Golden Globes? (Spoiler Alert: Yes!)

Jane the Virgin? More like Jane the Victorious!

On Thursday morning, the full list of nominees for the 2015 Golden Globes was revealed, and although there were plenty of TV snubs and surprises — there's one nomination in particular that had us doing a happy dance all around the office.

We've been in love with The CW's Jane the Virgin since the very beginning, so to see the freshman hit snag a nomination for Best Comedy is beyond thrilling. Adding to the excitement, the series' wonderfully captivating star Gina Rodriguez also made the ballot for lead actress in a comedy — and only ET was on set today to wish the actress congratulations.

"My publicist called me bawling and I thought something was terribly wrong," the 30-year-old starlet spilled to ET when asked how she found out about her GG nod. "Then I started screaming and I think I woke up my whole building."

Not only is this a memorable moment for Rodriguez, these nominations are also making network history— these are the very first Globe mentions for The CW since the network debuted in 2006.

The 30-year-old actress was ET's "It" breakout star of the fall TV season and it seems the Hollywood Foreign Press Association agreed with our choice because Rodriguez is the only newbie nominee in a category packed with comedy veterans.

The Chicago native will be going head-to-head with Lena Dunham (Girls), Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie), Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Veep) and Taylor Schilling (Orange Is the New Black). When asked how it feels to be counted amongst these famously funny ladies, Rodriguez's answer was short, but sweet: "I like being the newbie."

Jane the Virgin airs Monday nights at 9/8c on The CW. The Golden Globe Awards, hosted by Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, air live on Jan. 11 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
