We've got chills—and they’re multiplying!
The co-CEO's of Fox Television Group, Dana Walden and Gary Newman, took the stage at the TCA Winter Press Tour on Saturday morning, and they revealed that a new Sandy has been crowned.
Julianne Hough has been tapped to go from shy school girl to a sexy seductress in the upcoming performance of Fox's Grease: Live.
"Grease is one of the movies that made me want to be an entertainer, and I have literally been waiting my whole life to play Sandy," Hough said in a Fox press release. "My siblings and I watched it and played it out over and over when we were kids. This is my dream role and performing it live on television will be one of the most thrilling opportunities I’ve had in my career so far."
On Saturday, the Dancing With the Stars dancer-turned-judge
also posted a photo of post-makeover Sandy on her Instagram. "I'm SO excited to be joining the cast of #GreaseLive as Sandy! #FOX January 2016 :) #tellmeaboutitstud," she wrote.
But of course we can't have a Sandy without Rydell High's iconic bad girl. High School Musical's Vanessa Hudgens will dust off her dancing shoes to play the leader of the Pink Ladies, Rizzo.
"Being Rizzo is something I've never imagined, and I love that because it will be a new challenge," added Hudgens. "She is such an iconic character that continues to transcend generations. I cannot wait to bring her to life on live television. I’m going to be a Pink Lady!"
This first-ever broadcast production of Grease will air live Sunday, Jan. 31 2016 on Fox.
