It’s...handled?

Remember when Lena Dunham was interviewed on Grantland’s B.S. Report and said “her life’s great passion” was to guest star on Scandal? “I want to be like, a senator who did something wrong,” she explained. “Playing a really evil character would be really fun.”

(Fast forward to 45:00 to hear them talk Scandal.)

And then she kind of got the opportunity to do that when she hosted Saturday Night Live and played Kelsey, a recent college graduate who joined Olivia Pope & Associates and had literally a thousand follow-up questions.

ABC confirmed the casting to ET. Entertainment Weekly was first to report the news, casually dropping it in a spoiler roundup like it was NBD. “I hear [Lena] will guest in an upcoming episode slated to air in March,” EW’s Natalie Abrams reported. “While her role is, of course, being kept under wraps, I hear she may have a connection to OPA.”

Which means maybe she is playing a senator who did something wrong. Just as long as her character shares plenty of scenes with Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington). Anyway, we can’t wait. It’s going to be so weird! But like, in a good way!

Now, here’s what Lena had to say about Taylor Swift guest starring on Girls:
