Ellen DeGeneres will present Kerry Washington with the Vanguard Award at the GLAAD Media Awards, ETonline has exclusively learned.
The news comes just days after it was announced the Scandal actress was being honored for promoting LGBT equality and acceptance both at home and abroad. Washington has participated in anti-bullying campaigns and has spoken out against repression in Africa and Russia.
DeGeneres, 57, will join Channing Tatum as one of two marquee presenters at the Los Angeles event on March 21. Tatum will honor director Emmerich Roland with the Stephen F. Kolzak Award, which honors openly gay media professionals.
The longtime talk show host received the same honor at the 9th annual ceremony and has been nominated for 12 GLAAD Media Awards for her work on Ellen, The Ellen Show, and The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Washington, 38, previously presented Scandal creator Shonda Rhimes with the Golden Gate Award at the 2012 GLAAD Media Awards in San Francisco.
Meanwhile, DeGeneres’ wife, Portia de Rossi appeared on seven episodes of the hit ABC series this season. Watch as the couple talks about keeping spoilers from each other:
