Chris Rock got quite the welcome when he showed up on the Empire set to shoot scenes with the show's star Terrence Howard.

Empire
creator Lee Daniels
Instagrammed a video of the guys, and asked Rock how his first day of shooting went down. "My first day was incredible," the comedian said. "I worked with the great Terrence Howard and the great Lee Daniels."

Not missing a chance to make a joke, Rock quipped, "I don't know if it was an accident. He does have a reputation."

You may notice in the video that both Rock and Howard are wearing orange prison jumpsuits. In the season one finale of Empire, Howard's character, Lucious Lyon, is arrested for the murder of his friend Bunkie Williams (Antoine McKay). Rock looks to be playing one of Lucious' inmates.

Daniels was good about Instagramming behind-the-scenes shots from season two, and even shared a quick chat he had with Rock while shooting the prison scenes.

Empire
will return to Fox on September 23.
