First, there was the amazing news that Mae Whitman, a.k.a. Lauren Graham’s other TV daughter, will appear on the revival. Netflix confirmed to ET that the 27-year-old “will appear” in the series, though no other details about her role are available at this time.

Probably no one was more thrilled about the casting news than Whitman herself, who excitedly shared this photoshopped “official cast pic” when the revival was announced back in January.

Younger
star Sutton Foster is also set to appear in the new episodes, and the actress -- who starred in Gilmore Girls writer and executive producer Amy Sherman-Palladino’s ABC Family series Bunheads -- recently admitted to Entertainment Weekly that her “surreal” experience filming with Lauren Graham caused her to “burst into tears” after their scene.

“It was a nerd-fest for us both, and her scenes are bonkers fantastic,” Graham tweeted in response.

Fans also got their first look at Jared Padalecki and Milo Ventimiglia back on the streets of Stars Hollow on Tuesday as the actors -- who play Rory’s exes Dean Forrester and Jess Mariano, respectively -- debated the upcoming Warner Bros. film, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Unsurprisingly, these two can’t even see eye-to-eye when it comes to the superhero showdown.

“Batman will win,” Ventimiglia declared. “Crazy vigilante versus alien that feeds off of sunlight. Krypton or not, Batman’s gonna win.”

“I wish Batman would win, but Superman is the Man of Steel,” Padalecki rebutted. “He can catch bullets mid-air and spit them back at people, so I think he might catch Batman off-guard.”

So, Dean is Team Superman and Jess is Team Batman. Which one of them will be Team Rory when new Gilmore Girls episodes hit Netflix, however, remains to be seen.
