'Curb Your Enthusiasm' Coming Back to HBO for Season 9 After 5-Year Hiatus
HBO

TV fans, rejoice!

After five long, Larry David-free years, HBO announced on Tuesday that a ninth season of Curb Your Enthusiasm is officially happening.

"We’re thrilled that Larry has decided to do a new season of Curb and can’t wait to see what he has planned," HBO programming president, Casey Bloys, said in a statement.

When asked why he decided to come back, David said, "In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, "'I left, I did nothing, I returned.'"

The Emmy and Golden Globe-winning series, which hasn’t aired new episodes since 2011, centers on David as an over-the-top version of himself in an unsparing but tongue-in-cheek depiction of his life. With 80 episodes to date, the show is HBO’s longest-running scripted comedy or drama series.

As of now, no details or expected premiere date have been released about the premium cable series' ninth season, but we're just thrilled that Curb Your Enthusiasm is finally coming back!
