Lest we forget, Wally and Harrison Wells’ (Tom Cavanagh) daughter Jesse (Violett Beane) were both hit by a wave of dark matter energy at the end of season two as Team Flash worked to restore Barry Allen’s (Grant Gustin) speedster powers. Fans speculated that this meant that the two were headed towards their superhero evolutions into Kid Flash and Jesse Quick, respectively. And now we have at least one answer!

The CW also confirmed that Lonsdale’s Kid Flash will make his debut in the show’s season three premiere, which is entitled “Flashpoint” and will kick off The Flash’s journey into the universe-hopping comic book storyline.

Gustin and Lonsdale both shared shots from set on Instagram as they returned to work on The Flash last week. “First day filming for me on @cwtheflash season 3 ! Love ma job ⚡️,” Lonsdale captioned his trailer selfie, while Gustin posted a pic of “Baby faced Barry” after shaving off his hiatus scruff.

Gustin spoke with ET at The CW’s Upfront presentation back in May and revealed his hopes for Barry in season three of the superhero drama.

"I want to see the cocky, fun hero that gets to kick some a** and not always get his a** kicked and be in kind of a fun and positive place," Gustin said wistfully. "I don’t know how we're going to get that though next year, but hopefully he can find his way there because that's what I would like to see for him."
