This marks the first reunion for the actor and Rhimes, who created the long-running medical soap Grey’s, on which Knight starred for five seasons as Dr. George O’Malley. Rhimes serves as an executive producer on The Catch.

“Happy indeed!” Knight, 43, wrote on Instagram celebrating the news.

Executive producer Allan Heinberg, who develop the mystery drama, welcomed Knight, with whom he worked on Grey’s.

“Very excited – and very lucky – to be working with my friend again,” he tweeted. “Welcome @TR_Knight to @ABC_The Catch.”
