Vice President Joe Biden to Guest Star on 'Law & Order: SVU'

Law & Order: SVU will have huge bragging rights this season!

Vice President Joe Biden is playing himself in the second episode of season 18, airing Wednesday, Sept. 28 on NBC.

In his scene, Biden will commend Mariska Hargitay's character Lt. Olivia Benson and the rest of her team for addressing the backlog of untested rape kits, especially in Detroit.

Like many of the show's storylines, the episode reflects a real-life issue which Biden and Hargitay have both spoken out about, most recently at the United States of Women Summit at the White House in June.

Co-star Ice-T tweeted a picture of Biden filming his scene on Friday.

"Joe is in the building ... SVU," he wrote.

The 18th season of Law & Order: SVU premieres Wednesday, Sept. 21.
