EXCLUSIVE: Emily Maynard Talks 'Crazy' 'Bachelor' Days, the Best Post-Show Strategy for JoJo, and 'Bad Chad'

Emily's search for love took her all around the world on The Bachelor, but meanwhile her Prince Charming was in her own backyard.

Emily Maynard Johnson's search for love took her all around the world on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, but it turned out her Prince Charming was right in her own backyard.

"It's very strange. I still watch it and say, 'I can't believe I did that. That's crazy!'" Emily tells ET at her home in Charlotte, North Carolina. "It just seems like so long ago. Things are so normal now."

After a failed engagement to Bachelor Brad Womack in 2011, Emily took another swing on The Bachelorette in 2012. The season finale saw her getting engaged to Jef Holm, before they went their separate ways just months later.

But Emily didn't stay down in the dumps for long, as she soon got hitched with Tyler Johnson, whom she met at her hometown church.

The couple actually knew each other before Maynard went on The Bachelor, but the timing wasn't right.

"When I first saw him, he had a girlfriend," Emily explains. "I ran into him again one time and um, we just became friends. That was really the foundation of our relationship. We just became really good friends."

The couple recently celebrated their two-year anniversary.

"It feels like we've been married for a lot longer since we have so many babies on the way," Emily jokes.

Emily is currently pregnant with their second child together, and Emily's third. The couple are already parents to 1-year-old son Jennings and Emily has an 11-year-old daughter, Ricki, from a previous relationship.

Maynard has struggled with severe morning sickness during this pregnancy. Luckily her doctor recommended, Diclegis® (doxylamine succinate/pyridoxine hydrochloride), which is the ONLY FDA-approved medication to treat morning sickness after diet and lifestyle changes have failed.

While Tyler has never watched Emily's reality show stints, others in his family have been keeping an eye on her for years.

"His brother watched it and called him when I was on The Bachelor and said, 'There's this girl from Charlotte. You have to meet her. I think she's your wife!'" Emily recalls.

To this day, Tyler still hasn't watched any of Emily's reality show madness, which is just fine with Emily.

"Maybe in like a couple years we could go back and laugh about it," Emily says.

Now that she's back to a normal life, she admits that she didn't watch the last season of The Bachelorette, but she did see enough of Bachelor in Paradise to form an opinion on Bachelorette villain Chad Johnson.

"I didn't see him on JoJo's season, so I really had no idea what to expect," Emily notes. "I was like, 'He's so nice. I feel bad for him. I wonder why people call him Bad Chad or whatever.' By the end of the two hours, I kind of figured it out."

The Bachelorette's latest match, JoJo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers, are now entering a phase that Emily is all too familiar with, and she has some pointers for JoJo to keep her sanity.

"I would say just do not read the magazines, and do not go to an airport, do not go to a grocery store," she advises. "Just cocoon yourself in your house, basically. That is the only way you are going to get away from it."

And while Emily has no regrets about her decision to be a part of The Bachelor family, she has higher hopes for her daughter.

"I would beg her, hands and knees, 'Please don't do it!'" Emily admits. "But at the same time, it's her choice, but I would hope that she does not. I met my guy at church. Hopefully, she'll meet him at church."
