While the second season of American Crime Story is still a long way off, creator Ryan Murphy is already casting season three, with Darren Criss and Edgar Ramirez jumping on board.

A rep for FX confirmed to ET that Criss -- who starred on Murphy's Fox musical Glee -- and Ramirez, who recently starred opposite Matthew McConaughey in Gold, will star in Versace: American Crime Story.

Versace
will focus on the murder of famed designed Gianni Versace at the hands of serial killer Andrew Cunanan in July 1997. Cunanan, who committed suicide a week later, was responsible for at least five other murders in the months leading up to shooting Versace.

The premiere of Katrina: American Crime Story was recently set for 2018, with Versace set to air just months later in the same year.

Ramirez will play the legendary Italian fashion designer, while Criss is set to play the brutal serial killer. The season is based on the true crime novel Vulgar Favors by Vanity Fair writer Maureen Orth, which detailed the manhunt for Cunanan before and after he killed the fashion icon.
