He went so far to even write a sick note for fans to give to their bosses/school teachers on Wednesday morning.

"Dear Sir/Madame," his note, penned by his character, Jack Pearson, reads. "Please excuse _____ from work/school today, Wednesday. Last night was a very emotional episode of This Is Us. Thank you, Papa Pearson."

"Just in case you need a note after tonight's episode of #ThisIsUs," he captioned the pic. "#PapaPearsonLovesYou."

And if that wasn't reason enough to tune in to figure out what is happening (Will we finally discover what led to Jack's death? Is this the end for William?), his co-star and onscreen wife, Mandy Moore (Rebecca Pearson), also teased a night full of tears, retweeting a message from show creator Dan Fogelman.

"Guys - tonight is everything," Fogelman’s tweet read. "Performances will simply blow you away. Randall and William. Memphis. Road trip. Buckle up. #ThisIsUs."

"I echo this sentiment," added Moore. "Get ready."

Justin Hartley, who portrays Kevin Pearson, also weighed in, tweeting, "We got a good one tonight! #ThisIsUs."
