Ken Jeong
’s real-life experience is the inspiration for the newest episode of Dr. Ken.

Based on a breast cancer battle Jeong’s wife went through, tonight’s installment -- titled “Allison Finds a Lump” -- finds Allison (Suzy Nakamura) noticing a suspicious lump in her breast during a self-exam, causing a supportive Ken (Jeong) to rally around her while she waits for the doctor’s diagnosis.

ET has your exclusive sneak peek from the episode, where Allison and Ken find the humor in the unfortunate timing for her medical worries.

“Everything is going to get done,” Ken reassures his wife, promising that he’ll pick up the slack. “We’re in this together!”

“It’s like this sculpture over here. You press down on one side, the other responds and picks up the slack,” he says, trying to demonstrate on a piece of displayed art on a table -- only it doesn’t go as planned and moments before the doctor walks in with Allison’s results.

Jeong explained why this episode is Dr. Ken’s “most personal yet,” detailing his wife, Tran’s, battle with breast cancer nearly a decade ago. She is eight years cancer-free.

“Suzy Nakamura, who plays my wife, Allison, delivers the most amazing, heartfelt performance of the series,” he praised, giving a shout-out to Stand Up 2 Cancer. “So please watch a very special episode of Dr. Ken.”
