Rachel Bilson can't escape that southern life!
The Hart of Dixie star is returning to television with a major role on Nashville, making the announcement on her Instagram Thursday night, following the country music drama's midseason finale.
"Music city, here I come," the 35-year-old O.C. alum wrote in the caption, alongside a headphone emoji and a nondescript photo of the show's fictional record label, Highway 65.
Joining Bilson on the CMT drama is Kaitlin Doubleday, who will be leaving behind the hip-hop dramatics of Empire for the world of country music.
"This will definitely be a change of pace!" Doubleday wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo of The Bluebird Cafe.
“We welcome Rachel and Kaitlin into our incredibly talented ensemble,” Marshall Herskovitz, Nashville executive producer and showrunner, said in a statement. “We fondly anticipate the second half of the season filled with surprising twists and turns that make Nashville so beloved by the fans.”
Details on Bilson and Doubleday's characters are being kept under wraps, but judging by their respective snaps, it's a safe bet they'll play significant roles in the creative side of Nashville.
This marks Bilson's first major role on the small screen since Hart of Dixie ended in 2015 after four seasons on The CW. Doubleday most recently starred on Empire, before getting killed off in the season three premiere last fall.
In conjunction with the castings, CMT also released a teaser for the second half of the season. Watch below.
