Feel free to laugh about Kristi Yamaguchi's "break a leg" tweet to Nancy Kerrigan. Just know that they are laughing about it too!
"Kristi loves Nancy and has nothing but respect for her," a rep for Yamaguchi told ET in a statement. "No ill will was intended with the tweet and Nancy herself has received and commented on the well-wishes that were sent. Kristi is finding the reactions on social media humorous but unfortunately for those who want it to have been shady, that’s not the case."
Kerrigan's rep also spoke to ET to shut down the shade talk.
"Nancy and Kristi have been friends since they were about 15 years old. Nancy never for a second thought that there was any intent other than Kristi genuinely wishing her good luck in Dancing With the Stars," the rep said in a statement. "It is a shame that people are reading anything more into it than that but Nancy and Kristi spoke on the phone last night and had a good laugh about it."
There you have it!
The internet GIF machine was sent ablaze on Monday after Yamaguchi -- who won DWTS in 2008 -- lent her support to her fellow ice skater on her Dancing With the Stars appearance with the unintentionally hilarious tweet: "Can't wait to see you grace that ballroom floor, break a leg!"
...Yeah. Many on Twitter quickly took note of the infamous incident where Kerrigan was clubbed in the right knee in 1994, forcing her to withdraw from the U.S. Championships.
For now, we can all save this in our hearts as one of the great moments in internet history.
Meanwhile, Kerrigan recently opened up to ET about appearing on the reality competition show, revealing that she's wanted to do it since season 1!
