Adam Pally has found himself in trouble with the law.

The New York Police Department tells ET that the Mindy Project star -- who is also the lead in Leighton Meester's new Fox show, Making History -- was arrested and charged with criminal misdemeanor possession of both cocaine and marijuana on Tuesday.

Despite the bust, law enforcement sources tell ET that the 35-year-old actor was not taken to central booking after his arrest, and will need to report to community court at a later date.

Making History premiered earlier this month, and airs Sundays at 8:30/7:30c on Fox.
