Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker posted a video to Instagram on Friday that was obtained by Entertainment Weekly of what almost was the opening sequence to the hit HBO series. The opening that fans know and love shows Carrie (Parker) walking down a New York City street wearing a pink tank top and white tutu, but as she starts to find her stride, a bus -- which happens to have a huge ad with Carrie's face on it, promoting her Sex and the City column -- pulls into a puddle and splashes her.

“Lost footage. The alternate and never used title sequence from "SATC" A really nice memory,” Parker captioned the clip.

The alternate opener plays out a little differently, right down to the outfit. Carrie again is walking down the street, but this time she's wearing an all-purple outfit and instead of getting splashed by a puddle, she trips a bit right before a guy passing by checks her out. She then does a little twirl and glances at her face on the side of the bus.

The alternate opening sequence will inevitably get fans excited about a possible third Sex and the City movie. Last September, Parker spoke with ET as to whether she'd consider reprising her role as Carrie. "We have this very long and honored relationship with those women and men that watched our show," the 52-year-old actress explained. "We aren't casual about it and we have to know that we are offering up something that is deserving of their time and affection and dollars for tickets. So we consider all those things. That means we aren't being flighty with them. It's not on the table. It's in the warming drawer."
