The Girls goodbye tour will reach its final stop on Sunday.

When we first met 24-year-old Hannah Horvath in 2012, played and created by actressLena Dunham, she sat across from her parents (who had just told her they were financially cutting her off) in a scene during the pilot episode and declared to them that she may be the voice of her generation -- “or at least a voice. Of a generation.”

While the character had her doubts early on, Dunham had some key lines throughout the HBO show proving that she was certainly on to something.

Girls was the first series surrounding four females leads on the network since their mega hit Sex and the City, and at the time of its debut, Dunham explained what set it apart.

"I knew that there was a connection because it's women in New York, but it really felt like it was tackling a different subject matter," she told The Hollywood Reporter.

"Gossip Girl was teens duking it out on the Upper East Side and Sex and the City was women who figured out work and friends and now want to nail family life. There was this whole in-between space that hadn't really been addressed."
