HBO's hit comedy premiered its second season on Sunday.

Dating is "hella" complicated.

In the season two premiere of Insecure, Issa Dee (Issa Rae) wades in emotional limbo following a painful breakup (that she caused) from her boyfriend, Lawrence, played by Jay Ellis.

The episode picks up after the season one finale, where Lawrence moves out of their apartment, and Issa comes to terms with the fact that he may not want to rekindle their broken romance.

Now that she's officially living single, Issa feels ready to get back into the dating game, yet the pressure to be "witty" and "cute" makes her miss the comforts of a long-term relationship.

"I don't want to be here, but my ex won't take me back," she imagines blurting out during one of her many failed dates.

But Issa's not the only one struggling with the breakup. Lawrence has been crashing on a friend's couch, when he's not with Tasha (Dominque Perry), the bank teller that that he slept with after Issa cheated on him.

Even if they don't end up being a perfect match, Lawrence decides that he's at least willing to see if he vibes with Tasha outside of the bedroom.

Issa, on the other hand, admits to her best friend, Molly (Yvonne Orji), that she wants her "man" back. So she hatches a secret plan for Lawrence to pick up his mail during an impromptu weekday house party.

Aside from getting her friends drunk on Carlo Rossi wine, nothing else goes according to Issa's plan. The party ends in literal flames when a fire breaks out in the dining room, and Lawrence doesn’t bother showing up because he’s on a date.

By the time Lawrence eventually comes to get his mail, Issa has all but given up on the idea of winning him back. But just as he’s about to leave, they end up having sex on her couch.

Does this mean Issa and Lawrence are back together? Fans will watch the complications unfold when Insecure airs on Sundays at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT on HBO.
