The 46-year old star hit the gym with his co-stars, New Zealand actor KJ Apa (Archie) and newcomer Charles Melton (Reggie) on Sunday.

“Sunday workout ✔,” he captioned a pic of the trio on Instagram. “@kjapaand @_melton_ went beast mode. #riverdale #legendseries.”

Consuelos is joining the popular CW series as Veronica’s imprisoned father, Hiram Lodge, who is released from jail and makes his first appearance in season two, which kicks off in the fall.

ET caught up with the cast at Comic-Con in San Diego, California, on Saturday and the actors dished that Hiram isn’t the only newcomer set to shake things up in coming episodes -- Toni Topaz (played by Vanessa Morgan) is also going to cause a stir!

"She's the girl that Jughead meets at Southside, so obviously people are going to think that there's a little bit of a rivalry there, and that's possible, but I don't think we should just set up Toni to be a villain," Lili Reinhart (Betty) told ET. "But, you know, things might happen. Jughead is spending a lot of time at Southside and Betty's at Riverdale High."

"There's also the very real possibility that her siren-like call to Jughead, [and] deeper Serpent lineage, is also trouble," Cole Sprouse (Jughead) added.

Things are also looking to get messy between Archie and Veronica, thanks to Veronica’s ex-boyfriend showing up.

"It seems like Archie would be a little bit intimidated, for sure,” Apa said. “But I think his main reaction is just to fight. Like, 'Let's go, bro.'"
