The 10-episode series will premiere in early 2018, with Halloween and holiday specials set to air later this year.

"I'm excited to host the first season of Lip Sync Battle Shorties," Cannon said in a statement on Tuesday. "It’s always a pleasure to work with my family at Nickelodeon. It's going to be a lot of fun watching the kids lip-sync their favorite songs and perform like their favorites artists."

Social media sensation JoJo Siwa will join the series as Cannon's sidekick, a role which she told ET is "pretty awesome."

"It's going to be awesome. It's going to be hilarious. I did the pilot for it and that was really fun," she gushed. "So, now getting to the whole series for it is going to be really exciting. And working with Nick Cannon?! It's going to be so awesome."

Siwa, who signed an overall talent agreement with Nickelodeon, hasn't met Cannon yet, but said she's "really excited" to work together.

"I feel like he's hosted a lot. Like, America's Got Talent, [he's] an icon from that. I just think he's a really cool person in Hollywood. So, I'm really excited to get to work with him," she said, before revealing her favorite artist to lip sync to.

"I like a lot of Bruno Mars music. I do. It's my favorite. But I think they should have me and Nick Cannon do a lip-sync for, like, the last episode. [I] think it'd be genius," she said. "[But Cannon and I would] have to do a duo song. Could be something from Wicked, [and] dress him up like the Good Witch."

Siwa's docu-special,JoJo Siwa: My World, airs Aug. 12 on Nickelodeon.
