In a perfect world, we'd all be more like Camila Cabello.

The 21-year-old singer has had a whirlwind year as an artist, releasing her debut solo album, Camila, in January. But despite all the massive success that's come her way, Cabello is still that same adorable, goofy girl we met six years ago when she auditioned for season two of The X Factor.

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, ET is breaking down all the times the pop star has been the epitome of girl power, encouraging us all to stay true to ourselves and support our peers.

1. She's Never Forgotten Her Roots.

Cabello's star power is shining brighter than ever these days, but the singer proves she's a boss babe regularly by never being afraid to speak up for herself or praise the place she was born in: Havana, Cuba.

The brunette beauty is proud of her heritage and is always encouraging her fans with Hispanic roots to exude that same level of pride. In addition to naming one of her songs after the city she was born in, she's also candidly talked about what it was like to immigrate to America with her Cuban mother, Sinuhé Estrabao, when she was just six years old. At the time, they left everything in Havana behind, including Cabello's Mexican papá, Alejandro Cabello, who eventually immigrated a year and a half later.

"With a couple hundred dollars, the clothes on our backs, no family in the United States, and no clue of what was going to happen next, that's exactly what we did," Cabello recalled in a first-person essay published on Pop Sugar's Latina site. "Like my mom said, 'I don't know where I'm going, but I can't stay here.' And that was enough."

2. She Encourages Others to Be "Weird."

Never afraid to show off her own silly side, Cabello gave some wise words of advice to her fans during a 2013 interview with Vevo.

"At the end of the day, nobody's perfect," she exclaimed. "Everybody's weird whether they embrace it or not."

3. She Values the Power of True Friendship.

"So many people have disappointed me," Cabello admitted to Elle last October. "And there's also been so many people -- not so many, but a few people -- who make everything worth it, stick through it, and they show loyalty."

"And no matter what goes down, seas or rough or calm Sunday afternoon," she added, "those are people that are worth it. You die for those people."

4. She's Currently Touring With an All-Girl Squad.

Cabello was personally asked by Taylor Swift to join her Reputation world tour, along with powerhouse singer Charli XCX. In addition to performing their own individual sets, they also love taking the stage together, proving there's nothing more powerful than a group of ladies who can band together and rock it out!

5. She Turned Her Big VMAs Moment Into a Love Fest for Madonna.

Cabello was pretty much the queen of the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards last month, taking home two of the most coveted Moon Person awards: Artist of the Year and Video of the Year for her hit song, "Havana." Even though it was her big moment, she couldn't help herself from literally bowing down to Madonna during her acceptance speech.

"My hands are literally shaking. I'm never going to forget this moment," Cabello said of the legendary singer, who presented her with the Video of the Year award. "Madonna, I love you so, so much. I've seen every single music video of yours, I've seen every single documentary of yours, and you've inspired me so, so much."

6. She Reminds Herself Just How Far She's Come.

Following the show, Cabello melted our hearts when she took to Twitter to re-share a message she originally tweeted in 2012 that read, "#VMA2012 I wanna be there SOOOOOOO bad you don’t understand #someday."

"YOURE NOT GONNA BELIEVE THIS SMOL CAMILA BUT: IN 2018 MADONNA IS GOING TO GIVE YOU AN AWARD FOR VIDEO OF THE YEAR AND YOUR ACNE WILL CLEAR," she wrote in response to her younger self.

ET spoke with Cabello on the red carpet at the VMAs about the amazing year she's had thus far as a solo artist after leaving her all-girl group, Fifth Harmony, in December 2016. Watch below:
