Kerry Washington should definitely get a prize for one of the most daring red carpet choices at the 2016 Emmys, putting her baby bump center stage in a strapless black Brandon Maxwell dress. The unique creation featured a long cape and cut-outs on top of her belly.
The 39-year-old Scandal star wore her hair in voluminous, natural curls, and sported minimal makeup to complete the memorable look.

"This dress was made for me, obviously, I didn't go into a mall to buy this with a perfect bump," Washington joked to ET's Kevin Frazier. "Brandon Maxwell made this dress for me. I'm just a fan of his. I love what he's done with Gaga through the years and with the first lady recently, so I'm really honored he made this dress."
Washington admitted to ET that she has a little bit of anxiety about expecting her second child with husband Nnamdi Asomugha. The two are already parents to their 2-year-old daughter, Isabelle.
"I'm an only [child] so every time the family grows it uh... it brings up a little bit of anxiety,” the actress explained. "But it’s fantastic. I'm really happy."
Washington also revealed that she and Asomugha are waiting to find out the gender of their baby.
"We don't know, yeah," she said. "I'm open -- honestly, healthy, happy baby -- that's what we want."
A source confirmed to ET in May that Washington was pregnant again. ET spoke to the glowing actress in June, when she joked about her growing baby bump.
"I look a little curvier than usual," Washington told ET. "I look blessed."

"We're all really excited. We'll see how it all plays out," she added about her current pregnancy. "I'm an only child, so I'm like, 'What's this going to be like?' But I think it's going to be great."
