Oscar statuettes have been far from the only stunners dripping in gold.
While stars like Mila Kunis and Jennifer Lawrence put their names on the fashion map with their stunning lilac and red dresses in 2011, over the years, it's been shades of yellow that have dominated the Oscars red carpet.

While white dresses made a major mark on the red carpet last year, Alicia Vikander made sure everyone knew she was a fashion force to be reckoned with when she turned up at last year's awards show in a custom-made strapless Louis Vuitton number that made her look like a real-life princess -- Belle, specifically -- even she saw the uncanny resemblance.
"That was my thought!" she told ET on the red carpet, after being told she was inspiring comparisons already.
Not that she was upset about it... "I think if you would've asked 5-year-old Alicia what her biggest dream was, it was probably to be Belle in Beauty and the Beast," The Danish Girl star, who took home the Best Supporting Actress award, admitted to ET, smiling.
Plenty of other stars have felt like real-life princesses while rocking yellow gowns at the Oscars. Take, for instance, Michelle Williams' unforgettable canary yellow Vera Wang dress that oozed Old Hollywood glamour at the 2006 awards show.

Gold has also made stars glow, including Emma Stone in a long-sleeved sequin Elie Saab number that featured a thigh-high slit in 2015.
And even more have opted for lighter, champagne hues. Kate Hudson's Atelier Versace dress in 2014 was a modern take on vintage gowns, and Sandra Bullock made jaws drop in a shimmery Marchesa gown with floral embroidery in 2010. Plus, it's hard to forget Anne Hathaway, who looked just as gorgeous in a perfectly fitted, sequined Armani Prive dress in 2009, or Charlize Theron, who basically stole the show in a glittery Gucci gown five years earlier.
