Wolfgang Van Halen is standing up for Billie Eilish.

After Billie revealed that she didn't know about the band Van Halen, Wolfgang -- a current member of the rock group and the son of Eddie Van Halen, its famed guitarist -- took to Twitter to defend the 17-year-old singer.

"If you haven’t heard of @billieeilish , go check her out. She’s cool. If you haven’t heard of @VanHalen , go check them out. They’re cool too," Wolfgang, who replaced Michael Anthony in the band in 2006, wrote.

"Music is supposed to bring us together, not divide us," the bassist continued. "Listen to what you want and don’t shame others for not knowing what you like."

Billie's initial comments came during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, when the host named off things that were popular when he was a kid in the '80s to see if the teen knew who or what they were.

After he confirmed that Billie knows who Madonna is, Jimmy asked, "Can you name a Van Halen?"

"Who?" she questioned.

"I'm gonna start crying," Jimmy responded.

Though she may not be well-versed in '80s pop culture, Billie is currently taking the music world by storm, having recently scored six GRAMMY nominations.

"It doesn't really matter who wins it, because... to be even nominated at all, to be in the realm of the GRAMMYs in any sort of way, is really indescribable," she told ET last month. "I've been watching the GRAMMYs my entire life... and it's insane."
