The 26-year-old actress showed up to Ruffino Wines' special screening of her IFC Film, Personal Shopper, in New York City on Thursday night wearing a floor-length, turtleneck Chanel dress that showed off her slim figure. Thanks to her new haircut, Stewart managed to pull off being both elegant and edgy.
Earlier that day, the Twilight star revealed to the Today show that she decided to chop off her hair before filming the movie Underwater, where she portrays a mechanical engineer that's working on an oil rig that's at the bottom of the ocean floor.
"It's practical," she explained. "I mean, I'm not going to be able to have touch-ups once they put the helmet on my head."
On Thursday evening, Stewart showed up on TheLate Show With Stephen Colbert dressed in a casual pair of Brunello Cucinelli striped pants, and joked about her new look. "I got lucky. I've been wanting to shave it for a while, and then the director suggested that I do that, probably just because he wants his main character to look cool," she quipped. "The female protagonist has to be, like, bad a**."
Colbert joked that since Underwater is being described as the "underwater version of Armageddon," Stewart wanted to look more like Bruce Willis, the leading man of the 1998 action movie. "Yeah, I guess so," Stewart said with a laugh.
