Who's On Board For 'SATC 3'?

Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall,  Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis have all reacted to the idea of doing a third Sex and the City film, and now the show-turned-movie writer Michael Patrick King is giving his opinion on the gals coming back to the big screen.

"[Sex and the City] spilled over into people's lives and the characters were rounded enough that you could still wonder where they are," King, 59, told Entertainment Weekly. "What I do know is that there's interest ... It's all really about the stories, and if you actually think you have something left to say that would make it exciting and worthwhile for the fans’ time, that's really the question. Not whether you can get away with it, not whether anybody will buy it, not whether you can make money on it."

Answering his own question, he added, "It's really like, is there enough or more to say that would justify people risking seeing their favorite characters again? And I think there's one chapter left."

Cattrall, who played the feisty Samantha Jones, told ET Canada this past month that it's all about the "content."

"I feel the most important thing is always, do we have something left to say," Cattrall, 57, said. "...I think it's about the story, if there's something more to say ... [but] I'm not a writer and I don't work in a studio."

Meanwhile, SJP, a.k.a Carrie Bradshaw, seems to have one more movie in her. "A part of me thinks there is one last chapter to tell," the 48-year-old actress told InStyle's February 2014 issue. "But timing is a peculiar thing. It isn't a decision that can wait forever. I don’t want to have to wear muumuus!"

Last June, Davis, who plays Charlotte York on SATC, also admitted to ET that she was open to a third film.

"I would want to do it," Davis, 48, said. "I'm on record -- I'll be on record again -- I feel like it's the gift that keeps on giving. Our fans are beautiful and loyal and talk to me wherever I go, and in whatever country I'm in, and that means a lot to all of us. So if the situation arose where we had a script and everyone loved it, and the studio wanted to make it, I think that it would be fantastic and I hope it happens but I have no idea if it will happen."

However, 47-year-old actress Nixon, who played the level-headed Miranda Hobbes, doesn't seem as enthusiastic about a third movie.

"I think we had a wonderful ride. I think it's fine to let it go," she told The Hollywood Reporter in 2012 about a possible SATC sequel.
