EXCLUSIVE! See Naya Rivera Make Her Big Screen Debut in 'At the Devil's Door'
By Leanne Aguilera
Get ready to see Naya Rivera like you've never seen her before!
The gorgeous Glee star is taking her first step into the big screen spotlight with her debut film, At the Devil' Door—and ETonline has your exclusive behind-the-scenes sneak peek!
Step aside Santana Lopez, Rivera has found a new dynamic character to play. "I came from a television background primarily and I've played Santana for like four years now, and so creatively I was really hungry to do something else and do something different," the 27-year-old starlet spilled in our first look video above.
So what was it about her new character, Vera, that drew Rivera to the role? "Well I've never done a movie before and this script came along and I read it and I felt like the character was strong," the actress, who recently tied the knot in a surprise ceremony, explained.
"Vera really appealed to me because she is so different from Santana, and from the way the two of them look—that was the biggest change," she dished. "Santana is always very prissy and well put together and Vera is artistic and not really into hair and make-up and I thought that would be interesting for people to see me in a different light. She's very vulnerable, which I liked because I don’t get to play a lot of that on Glee."
And for all those Glee fans out there, get excited because Rivera will return to the hit series for their seventh and final season in 2015 as a recurring character.
Take a look at our full video above to find out why At the Devil's Door was the "perfect platform" for the brunette beauty to hone her acting abilities. Plus find out if River prefers working on more with an ensemble cast, like Glee, or all by her lonesome.
You can catch At the Devil's Door on VOD and all digital platforms on August 8th and in theaters September 12.
