It looks like Carrie Fisher's performance in Star Wars: Episode VIII will be her last.

Lucasfilm issued a statement on Friday refuting rumors that Fisher would be digitally recreated for future Star Wars films, following the actress' death on Dec. 27.

"We don't normally respond to fan or press speculation, but there is a rumor circulating that we would like to address. We want to assure our fans that Lucasfilm has no plans to digitally recreate Carrie Fisher's performance as Princess or General Leia Organa," read a statement on starwars.com.

"Carrie Fisher was, is, and always will be a part of the Lucasfilm family. She was our princess, our general, and more importantly, our friend," the statement continued. "We are still hurting from her loss. We cherish her memory and legacy as Princess Leia, and will always strive to honor everything she gave to Star Wars."

While Fisher won't be digitally recreated for future Star Wars films, CGI was involved in bringing the actress' Princess Leia to life in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which was released two weeks before her death.

Fisher died on Dec. 27 after going into cardiac arrest during a flight from London to Los Angeles just a few days prior. She was 60.

ET has confirmed that Fisher had finished shooting scenes for Star Wars: Episode VIII before her death, which is set to be released in December 2017. Fisher also reprised the role of Leia in 2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
