Lady Gaga had a very busy work weekend.

After performing at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, on Saturday night, the 31-year-old pop star started shooting scenes with Bradley Cooper for A Star Is Born. Expressing how grateful she is for the opportunity to star in the latest reimagining of the musical, Gaga shared the first photo of herself as the character of Ally and Cooper as Jackson Maine.

"I am so excited to star in my first movie alongside someone I'm so lucky to call my friend. I always wanted to be an actress on the big screen," she captioned the image. "The story of A Star is Born is so special and I'm so grateful to Bradley for making my dream come true. Can't wait for you to meet Ally. She has her first scene in five..."

Cooper, 42, is not only starring in the movie alongside Gaga -- who is being billed as Stefani Germanotta, her real name, for the film -- he's also making his directorial debut, as well as serving as a producer and co-writing the screenplay based on William A. Wellman and Robert Carson's beloved story.
