The follow-up to the Gal Gadot-starring superhero flick will arrive in theaters on Dec. 13, 2019, Warner Bros. confirmed to ET on Tuesday. While no director has officially been announced, Gadot will reprise her iconic role and it has been rumored that the studio is in talks to have Patty Jenkins return as director.
Wonder Woman was a summer smash, earning over $769.7 million worldwide so far, and breaking records, including the mark for highest-grossing live-action film directed by a woman.
In June, a source revealed to ET that Jenkins was at work on a sequel script, which will reportedly take place in the U.S.
While fans will have to wait almost two and a half years to see Diane Prince's solo story evolve, the crime-fighting heroine will appear in Zack Snyder's Justice League, out Nov. 17.
This past weekend at the comic book convention, Gadot and the rest of the Justice League cast -- Ben Affleck, Jason Momoa and Ezra Miller -- shared a sweet moment with a tiny fan dressed as the iconic superhero. See the actress' reaction in the video below.
