John Mayer is making a comeback!

It's been three years since the release of the 39-year-old singer's last album, Paradise Valley, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart, and Mayer announced his next project is coming soon.

"Mixes and meetings and photo shoots and finishing touches," Mayer tweeted on Wednesday. "Pop music I'm comin' back."

Mayer hasn't been completely out of the spotlight in the years since his last LP. Two weeks ago, he hit the stage at the Comedy Cellar in Manhattan alongside comedians Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock and Aziz Ansari.

In April, Mayer took part in an impromptu performance at No Name Club in Los Angeles, where Chappelle, Stevie Wonder, Nas and more helped pay tribute to Prince.

In addition to his return to pop, Mayer has also stated he's ready to return to the dating pool. In June, he chatted about his relationship status with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live.

"This is the best way to put it: I'm ready to roll," he said. "I'm older and more mature than I've ever been and the stage is set. The stage is set. There's nobody on the stage."
