Derek Hough choreographs and stars in Michael Buble's newest music video, "I Believe in You," and ET was exclusively invited to the set.

"I'm a huge fan of Michael Buble. I think he's amazing," Hough told ET's Nischelle Turner. "His music is incredible. He's an amazing artist and a great guy, so to do this project and be a part of this for him is amazing."

Hough called the shots on set in Buble's absence, as the Canadian singer is taking time off to care for his 3-year-old son Noah, who is going through cancer treatments. News of Noah's diagnosis was revealed in November, at the time it was reported that he had a 90% chance of survival.

"My prayers are out to him," Hough said. "For me, I'm trying to do the best job I can here and put together a beautiful story and a beautiful video for him."

Hough also revealed that he drew inspiration for the project from his grandparents' marriage.

"My grandfather passed away last year and the last couple of years they danced every single morning together -- my grandma and grandpa," Hough said. "They danced every single morning to the same song, and it was their ritual. Even the night before he passed, they were dancing together, and then he passed away that night. For me, that was like this beautiful story of everlasting love, and that's kind of what I wanted to tell."

Hough is also hard at work on another project, judging alongside Jennifer Lopez on NBC's upcoming show, World of Dance.

"I think that we just have great chemistry," Hough said. "We hit it off really well. We have a good banter between each other. She's cool. I mean, she's not just another person because she's J. Lo, but what you definitely feel comfortable around her for sure."
