Russell Brand: I'd Like To Be Married Again
It's been nearly a year and a half since the world learned that Katy Perry and Russell Brand were calling it quits on their marriage, and in a new interview with Esquire UK magazine, the comedian talks about what went wrong in their relationship.
"You’ve got to really, really want it," the 38-year-old, who was married to Perry for 14 months, said of his marriage. Though some may suspect infidelity was one of the reasons for the high-profile divorce, Brand assures the men's magazine that he's a one-woman man. "When I'm in a relationship I'm diligently monogamous and stick to the principles agreed on within that relationship."

The Get Him to the Greek actor adds, "You've got to, I think. But it's going to be hard if I go into a monogamous relationship. I live a life where I have a lot of freedom, so if I meet someone and I go, 'Right let’s be monogamous,' that's a f***ing change."
He continues on about his marriage to 28-year-old Perry, "But I tried it and I loved it. I really think she's a lovely beautiful person. It's just hard isn't it? She’s got a lot of options, I've got a lot of options, so you've got to really, really want it."
As to why it didn't work out with the pop star, Brand admits, "Some of it's the fame, but I think getting married is -- you've got a whole other person that you've got to make as important as you!"
