"It's wonderful news," said Hollywood Foreign Press Association President Theo Kingma. "They have always been our first choice as hosts and we're delighted they are back for the next two years."

The news follows last year's performance by Fey and Poehler that generated positive reviews and 19.7 million total viewers, a six-year high for the awards show. The 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards will air on NBC Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. (PT) and 8-11 p.m. (ET) from Beverly Hills.

"Well last year was really fun! We didn’t know what to expect. It was exciting to work with Tina, as always, and it was a strange experience. We had a lot of fun so we said maybe we can try it again and like fools we are giving it another shot," she said. "We'll treat it like Weekend Update -- it's a little SNL style and have to work backwards. We get a lot of jokes, write our own, talk bits and we work through them. You can't really do this kind of stuff too early and you can't over think it," she added.
