Wild
is based on the best-selling nonfiction book by Cheyl Strayed about her decision to hike more than a thousand miles on the Pacific Crest Trail all on her own after years of destructive behavior.

Witherspoon plays the role of Strayed, and she also co-produced the film. According to Variety, the pre-screening buzz from the festival is gaining the actress some serious attention, "She offers a tour de force performance that moves her solidly into the Oscar race in the best actress category."

Back in 2006, Reese won an Academy Award for best actress in a lead role as June in Walk The Line.
