"This is the last thing I'm going to say about everything that's been going on ... Both of my parents, stepmom, Carmen, and friends ...were all there for me at all times," she tweeted. "Little do you know ... We've never left each other's sides."
"I would also be so grateful if everyone didn't choose to attack & blame anyone for what I chose to do with my life," she added. "I'm taking care of me."
Alec was spotted in New York City on Tuesday, where he understandably didn't appear to be in the best of spirits. On Tuesday, Ireland refused to blame her parents for her trip to rehab. In response to a tweet reading, "Wack-a-do parents, Hollywood lifestyle...isn't it always how this stuff turns out?" she tweeted, "Oh it can! Not this time but it sure can."
A source close to Ireland told ET on Tuesday that her two-week stint at Malibu's Soba Recovery Center, a drug and alcohol treatment center, is actually not drug-related -- rather, it's for stress and anxiety.
"Ireland has been through some stressful and negative situations in her life recently and has taken the proactive approach to getting things back on track," the source said. "Ireland has the full support of her family and friends who are extremely proud that she has taken matters into her own hands as the strong woman that she is."
There are also new reports that Ireland has split with her girlfriend, rapper Angel Haze. The two sparked romance rumors as early as last May, and made their red carpet debut as a couple at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards in December. However, Page Six says their rumored split is not the reason she has voluntarily entered rehab.
