One week after tearing a ligament in her ankle, Britney Spears posted a pic on Instagram of her left foot in a much more manageable lace-up brace. "Finally giving the boot the boot!!!" she wrote. "See you tomorrow night, Vegas!"
"It's better now. I'm wearing a boot," she told Ryan Seacrest on Monday. "[It's] sprained really bad. It's bruised up… It's very painful."
Her May 1 and 2 gigs at Planet Hollywood were immediately rescheduled. Then on Tuesday, Planet Hollywood announced that her May 6 gig would also be postponed. "Britney’s doctor has advised her not to perform Wednesday evening so that she may continue to heal from an ankle injury sustained during her performance last week," the statement read.
The last cancellation came as a bit of surprise, as Britney was spotted on May 3 playing football on a Malibu beach with her family -- sans boot. That quickly prompted speculation that she might not be injured as badly as she let on. After all, how do you play in the sand with a banged-up ankle?
While Britney has admitted that the fall was "really kind of embarrassing," she hasn’t commented on her day of fun in the sun.
With a number of major gigs coming up, including the TV premiere of her "Pretty Girls" collab with Iggy Azalea at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards on May 17, there is extra incentive for Britney to rest up -- boot or no boot.
Looks like you’ll just have to tell us how Britney seems tomorrow night, Vegas!
