But the cozy tea, which last several hours, wasn't all finger foods and small talk. A Kensington Palace spokesperson told ET that the two couples met to discuss their "shared interest in combatting the illegal wildlife trade."

Wildlife trade is just one of the causes Jolie is giving time and energy to on her trip to England. the 40-year-old Academy Award winner flew there to attend the upcoming lunch at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office as part of her work on U.K. foreign policy and her campaign against war zone sexual violence. It's that kind of humanitarian work that prompted Queen Elizabeth to make Jolie an Honorary Dame Commander in 2014.

Still, at Friday's tea, the two couples did manage to squeeze in time for fun. Kensington Palace officials told Us that the foursome got along "splendidly," and that their meeting lasted far longer than what was scheduled. Jolie and Pitt even brought the royal couple a gift to celebrate the birth of Princess Charlotte.

None of the couples' children joined their parents for the visit, but maybe next time they can arrange a royal playdate! Until then, let's coo at how adorable newborn baby Charlotte is, in the video below!
