Even Hailee Steinfeld Admits 'Love Myself' Is About Masturbation

Because of course it is.

Hailee Steinfeld is feeling good on her own, and yes that means exactly what you think it does.

When pointedly asked whether her debut song "Love Myself" is about masturbation, the 18-year-old told Vice's Noisey: "I think for me the song just has a really strong self-empowerment message, and whether you take that as something physical or not, it basically means the same thing ... It's about being able to provide for yourself and knowing how much power there is in that."

While the song's (crazy catchy) chorus could apply to all sorts of self-empowerment -- "Gonna love myself, no I don't need anybody else," Steinfeld sings -- her verses leave little to the imagination.

Asked whether she expected fans to interpret the song as a "pro-masturbation banger," Steinfeld replied with a seemingly enthusiastic, "Yeah, of course!"

"Pictures in my mind on replay/ I'm gonna touch the pain away/ I know how to scream my own name," she sings, followed by: "I'll take it nice and slow/ Feeling good on my own without you, yeah/ Got me speaking in tongues/ The beautiful, it comes without you, yeah."

But, wait! There's more!

"I'm gonna put my body first/ And love me so hard 'til it hurts/ I know how to scream the words/ Scream the words."

So, whose mind isn't in the gutter right about now?

The starlet even embraced the message with a cheeky "Self Service" T-shirt in her music video.

"I was obviously a little overwhelmed with this being my first ever music video, but when me and the director sat down to talk about concepts, it came down to, like, I just want to have fun with this," she explained. "We knew that people were going to stop and look and judge or whatever, but knowing that we were having a good time was what got us through it. That was basically the whole idea behind the video."

No judgement here, Hailee! You do you, girl...
