Gwyneth Paltrow says she's a "calm, pretty patient and normal person" when comes to her day-to-day dealings, but those attributes go out the window when her two children -- Apple Martin, 11, and Moses Martin, 9 -- need help with their homework.

"Honestly, it's where the worst part of my personality comes out," she admitted on KIIS FM's Kyle and Jackie O Show. "When homework time [comes around], I'm such an a**hole."

Paltrow confessed that she sometimes struggles with the school assignments. "I don't understand [Moses'] math," she quipped. "There's so many things going wrong at one point, it's so frustrating."

The 43-year-old actress also recalled a bizarre memory from her own time in elementary school. Paltrow attended a private school in California and said that one of her teachers would play Marvin Gaye's "Sexual Healing" every morning. Not understanding the lyrics at the time, she recalled that her and her classmates really enjoyed the song.

Though she's now all grown up, Paltrow admitted to Into the Gloss that she's still not an expert at applying her own makeup. "I’m not very good at putting on makeup, which is, I think, a result of having had my makeup done for 20-plus years," the actress -- who just launched Goop's new skincare line -- said. "But now I can do the foundation, a little cheek, and some mascara. Luckily I have my own foundation color because I helped develop it."

In a recent interview with ET, Paltrow shared   a beauty tip she got from her famous friend, Kate Hudson. "Kate was the first person who told me to stick my head in ice water when you wake up and you have to shoot something and you've had too much fun the night before," she said. "She's just the most carefree, lively, loving person and I think a lot of her beauty comes from that."
