"Loretta Mourns the Loss of Grandson," the post began. "American music icon, Loretta Lynn is mourning the passing of her eldest grandson, Jeffrey Allen Lynn who died unexpectedly on Monday. Jeffrey was 47 and lived and worked on Loretta Lynn's ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee."

"Jeffrey was the eldest son of Jack Benny Lynn, Lynn's second child and eldest son who tragically drowned in 1984," the message continued. "Jeffrey Allen Lynn is survived by three children, Jory, Katie and Cody."

Due to the heartbreaking news, the 84-year-old country singer has postponed two of her upcoming performances in Oklahoma to be with her family. She was scheduled to perform Friday at the Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, and again on Saturday at the Sugar Creek Casino in Hinton. The shows have been rescheduled to July 8 and November 12, respectively.

Lynn has unfortunately faced many family tragedies over the years. Her second child, Jack Benny, drowned in July 1984 at age 34 while trying to cross a river on horseback. Her husband, Oliver "Doolittle" Lynn, died in August 1996 from diabetes-related health problems and heart failure, just five days before his 70th birthday. In July 2013, her eldest child, daughter Betty Sue, died at age 64 after a battle with emphysema.
