Sylvester Stallone was in Nice, France, at the time of the horrifying tragedy on Thursday that left 84 dead and more than 200 injured after a truck plowed through a crowd of people celebrating Bastille Day.

The action star touched down in Nice earlier this month, just a few days before his 70th birthday, along with his wife, Jennifer Flavin, and the couple's three daughters, Sophia, Sistene, and Scarlet.

On Friday afternoon, Stallone posted a photo he had taken on Thursday evening. "Sadly, this was just moments before that horrible, cowardly attack in Nice France," he captioned the pic of himself smiling as fireworks went off behind him.

During their time in Nice, Stallone and his family have been sharing photos of the beautiful country.
