Just one month after announcing their courtship, Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo are engaged.
A family source confirmed to ET that "everyone is so happy and excited" for the couple following news of their proposal.
Jinger's parents also shared the news on the family's website. "What a joy for us to announce that Jeremy and Jinger are now engaged to be married! Wow, where did the time go? Sweet little Jinger is now grown up and engaged!" Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar wrote. "We are so happy for them both. Above all, we are so grateful for their love and commitment to Christ. We are so excited about another Duggar wedding! We know that wonderful days are ahead for Jinger and Jeremy and we are looking forward to every moment! Our entire family rejoices!"
Jinger and Jeremy -- who met last May on a mission trip -- personally shared their news in a video posted to TLC, which airs the Duggar family's reality show, Counting On. "It's hard to put into words how I feel. I'm really just over the moon," the 28-year-old soccer pro said while gazing at his new fiancee. "I couldn't be happier, and so grateful God for giving me such an incredible woman -- and she said yes!"
"I cannot believe that I'm engaged to the man of my dreams, the man I asked God for," the 22-year-old reality star gushed. "God is so kind, and I just cannot believe it. We're engaged!"
Jeremy added that the couple will be sharing their wedding plans on TV. "Thank you so much for your love and support towards me and Jinger," he said. "We are excited for you to see all the details on the new season of Counting On."
In addition, Jinger and Jeremy also released a statement about their engagement. "So excited to share this news that we are now engaged. From both of us, thank you all for the countless well-wishes we’ve received during the courtship. We are so excited to take this next step in spending our lives together," the statement reads. "We are so grateful for how the Lord has brought us together. It has been an incredible journey so far and we are excited about serving Christ together in the coming days."
The two announced their courtship in a similar fashion, and explained to fans what that meant in terms of dating. "As opposed to a more casual dating relationship, we really want to honor the Lord, and be very intentional about how we move forward," Jeremy, who plays goalkeeper for the San Antonio Scorpions, explained in their video announcement in June.
