Michelle Obama Chats Up 'Americans' Stars Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell at State Dinner
By Zach Seemayer
President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama hosted a State Dinner for Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the White House on Tuesday, and only a select number of politicians, dignitaries, industrialists and celebrities were invited.
The short guest list included Keri Russell and her Americans' co-star, and boyfriend, Matthew Rhys, who dressed to impress. Russell rocked a black and gold gown while Rhys donned a traditional, fitted tux.
The actors -- who happen to play deep-cover Russian spies on their hit FX drama -- were the only actors on the entire 200-person guest list.
It certainly wasn't the first time a celeb has attended a State Dinner. (Remember when Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively stepped out to honor Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and Sasha Obama adorably freaked out?)
With only six months left in the White House, this is rumored to be the Obama's final State Dinner -- although that hasn't been officially confirmed by the President's aides -- and the cute couple continued to prove just how adorable they really are.
Last week, FLOTUS brought the house down at the Democratic National Convention with an amazing, emotional speech about raising her daughters in the political spotlight, and the lessons she's learned from her time in the White House. Check out her powerful oration in the video below.
