Following a brief break after his wife, Kim Kardashian West, was held at gunpoint and tied up inside a Paris hotel last Sunday, Kanye West returned to the stage for his scheduled Saint Pablo tour stop in Chicago on Friday.
According to an eyewitness, the "Famous" rapper took the stage around 9:23 p.m., 1 hour and 23 minutes past schedule. The 39-year-old Chicago native performed until 10:58 p.m., at one point telling the crowd, "It's good to be home!"
Inside the venue, Kanye performed atop a lifted floating stage, with bright lights surrounding him from all angles. "The lighting was a huge spectacle," the eyewitness explained. During his performance of "Fade," the red lights hovering above Kanye even appeared to dance along to the catchy track.
As ET previously reported, West abruptly walked off stage midway through a performance of his song "Heartless" at the Meadows Festival in Queens, New York, on Sunday after hearing that his wife had been held up. The rapper told the audience that he had to end the show due to a "family emergency."
At the time, Kim's spokesperson told ET that the reality star was "badly shaken, but physically unharmed" from the heist. Hear the latest update on Kim's robbery investigation in the video below.
